A Messsage from Father Woolley
This past April 9, the Feast of the Annunciation, Bishop Tobin very unexpectedly asked me if I would be willing to become the Pastor of Ss. John and Paul Parish in Coventry, which is the largest parish in the Diocese, both in terms of registered families and square miles, and also my home parish that I grew up in, where I was baptized, made my first communion and confirmation, was ordained a Deacon, and where I celebrated my First Mass as a Priest – the first priest from the parish. While I still had one more year in my second six year term, and wasn't at all desiring to move from St. Joseph's, I felt that I couldn't say no to such a request, especially since I will be just down the road from my elderly parents, who are in need of my assistance at this time when my father is on hospice with my mother caring for him at home. Therefore, on July 1, 2018, St. Joseph Woonsocket will be getting a new pastor, and I will become the Pastor of Ss. John and Paul Parish in Coventry. I want to thank the Lord for giving me 15 great years at St. Joseph Church and Good Shepherd School in this great, faith-filled city of Woonsocket; and I will greatly miss this community. Please pray for me as I prepare to assume the responsibilities of such a big parish and parish school, and please also pray for the new pastor of St. Joseph's, who's name will be announced in a few days.
God bless, Fr. Woolley
